Hey NS Ride members,
please join fellow members and ride leaders for apres ride food and bevvies at the GLC Bar and Grill at 1pm. The GLC (Garibaldi Lift Co.) Bar and Grill is located at the base of the mountain above Guest Service and Rentals. They are graciously offering a 15% discount off the food portion of your bill. We are expecting a large crowd and management has asked if we could group 3 or 4 members per bill to help things run smoothly.
Have a great ride everybody!

Hard to believe that it's getting towards the end of summer when it feels like its only really started :(
The Starting point is Beg/Intermediate for Whistler. Likely Trails. Shit Happens, Big Kahuna, Route 102. Thrill me Kill me, may be added if everyone is still perky, but I doubt we will be. It will push your abilities as the Whistler trails are rooty, very sharp rock and steep rock faces. There is NO Beginner ride for the Whistler weekend. Just a reminder that weekend rides are at least 4 hours or more. We don't stop at Starbucks in the middle of the ride. Bring food and lots of water. Please make sure you have extra tubes and your bike is in good working order. Be prepared for all weather conditions. Will you need armor? Yes, No, Maybe. It's really up to YOU to decide. When you arrive at the meeting point in Whistler, if you are in the Beg/intermediate group, do not unload your bike. This a meeting point only, we will be driving to the trails head start point.
Thanks Sheldon
but please check the schedule for the meeting points. I would like to see the DH people with a lift ticket at 9:45. This means that you will need to be there ready to go around 9:30. The XC people will probably be meeting at the last lot at Whistler, I think we tried that last year and it worked better than meeting at the Husky. But check the schedule on Friday before you leave!
I am hoping that I will have the schedule out this weekend sometime, but, I am on vacation right now!
Whoa... the Whistler ride sounds challenging. I wonder if I'll be able to tackle it. I guess I'll have to get assessment from one of the ride leaders before committing to the ride.

Dave, I sent you a PM (look at the menu bar where it says my messages).
I just want to stress that a certain level of fitness is required for the weekend rides. They are longer, and of course as you get tired, things that are easier become harder. It really is different than riding an evening XC loop on Seymour.

Hi Dave
Sorry i'm really, really bad with names, I ID everyone by the bike they ride, so I am not sure if I have ridden with you before. Talk to me Thursday. I usually lead Beginner/Intermediate rides. I wont be hard to miss as I am a fat bastard, with no hair in a red jersey. If you don't see me you will likely hear me.
Thanks Sheldon
Dave you would be fine for Whistler and yes you need to bump yourself up to the next group, you've been sand bagging for awhile. When you said White Stump Jumper I new exactly who you where. June's going to want to sit this one out and I don't advice the bike park for her either.
Thanks Sheldon
I think you have more faith in my abilities than I do ;D I'm still a noob & havent tackled too much beyond the intermediate trails so far, so that's why the expert rating on the trails that have been chosen for the Whistler ride have me a bit concerned. Anyways, we'll see you on Thurs & you can give me the lowdown what to expect
