The following is the email from Miriam Clegg, Laboratory for Exercise and Environmental Physiology in SFU. She is recruiting volunteers for a research study. If interested, please contact her directly.
----------------------------------------------------------------
We are looking for older (55-70 years) healthy male volunteers to participate in the study examining respiratory and skin surface responses to hypoxic and hot conditions and we thought the mountain biking club would like to be the first to get the opportunity to participate.
The testing will be conducted at normal body temperatures and in hyperthermia (i.e. increased body temperatures) and in both hypoxic and normoxic conditions which may be of interest to mountain bikers or others involved in outdoor sports. Participation in this study involves two visits to the laboratory lasting approximately 1.5 and 5 hours.
Any questions or interest in the study is much appreciated. My contact details are miriamclegg@hotmail.com or 778-782-6895.
