North Shore Bikefest 2009: The Resurrection [/b]

Hello Everyone!
Mountain bike racing returns to Vancouver's North Shore in 2009. The North Shore Bikefest is a weekend-long, family-oriented cycling event focusing on youth development; support and promotion of Mountain Biking on the North Shore. Plus some great racing and riding!
[b]Race Events[/b]
The North Shore Bike Festival will feature a Marathon Cross Country Event Saturday May 23rd dedicated to the memory of Richard Juryn, with a course that is guaranteed to challenge and reward. Plus, the Seymour Smackdown Downhill Event on Sunday May 24th!
[b]Expo[/b]
The weekend will include fun and festivities for all ages with the support of your biking community and service providers.
[b]Gear Swap[/b]
The NSMBA has also decided to bring the GEAR SWAP back to the North Shore and include it in this years festival. A great place to sell the biking gear that you have lost your love for and pick up something new...to you that is!
More details will be coming your way but one thing I know now is that we need volunteers this weekend to make it a brillant success!
Instead of 4 Rippers and 1 Gear Swap = 5 weekends; we are staging one weekend event in hope that we can bring the community together with a variety of festivities. What a great way to get everyone together; pumped up and ready to ride after a long and cold winter!
I do not need a commitment of exactly when you want to come out but PLEASE let me know if you are interested and I will add you to my list. I will send out more details in the next week or two which will focus on specific volunteer roles for that weekend.
We will need people from Thursday May 21st -Sunday May 24th and of course there will be perks for our vollies. This includes a wrap up party to thank everyone for their hard work the week following the festival. So send this on to any friends who may also be interested!

North Shore Bike Festival - cross country race, downhill race, expo festivities etc.
* course marshalls,
* first aid - please note if you have any specific training
* registration
* expo marshalls
* course sweeps
* bike watch
* set up/tear down
* parking marshalls
GEAR SWAP - will take place at the Jaycee House just above Inter-river park - a mere few hundred meters from the festival.
* registration (please note if you have a high level of bike knowledge - not mandatory)
* set-up/tear down
* sales
* cashiers (experience necessary).
* security
