Sunday, May 31 - SORCA Trail Day
If you have ridden some of the amazing network of trails in Squamish, this is your chance to give back to the trails. The trails in Squamish are maintained by only a small group of dedicated people and they need as much help as they can get to keep the trails in good shape. There will be a group of NSRIDE leaders helping out the trail day. Why don't you join us?
Also, after the trail day, we will be having a BBQ social. Our member, Meghan Illingworth, a Squamish resident, has generously offered her place to host a BBQ social. If you are interested in coming to the trail day and a BBQ social, please RSVP at info@nsride.com
Trail: 19th Hole
Place: Shuttle Parking lot off Mamquam Rd, just above Quest University
Time: 10:00 AM
Bring: hiking boots or work boots, grubby clothes, work gloves, lunch, water
RSVP: info@nsride.com (so that we know how much food to buy!)

SORCA had coffee and breakfast wraps ready for us in the morning. We also took some home baked goods, Cliff bars and Red Bull to fuel us up on the trail. Shaums March shuttled us up in his shuttle van with a TV. We hiked up about 15 minutes from the bottom of the trail and worked on new re-route section of the 19th Hole, beside "cheese grater".
What did we do? We took all the organic matter off from the trail, rocked some section and covered with "gold". Luckily, the "gold" wasn't too difficult to find. We worked several hours buffing up the trail. There were about 30 people working on the trail that day. ;D
Thanks Meghan for being a generous host after the trail day. Thanks Patti and Meghan for all the food!
If you don't know what "gold" is, come out to the next trail day to find out. Good Karma will be on your side. NSRIDE will be sponsoring 2 more trail days this year.
