NSRIDE is excited to be part of the NSMBA Trail Adoption Plan (TAP) once again in 2013 (http://nsmba.ca/trail-adoption-plan). Together, NSRIDE and Different Bikes have adopted three trails on the lower part of Mt. Seymour: Bottle Top, Empress Bypass and Empress.
NSRIDE has committed to providing approximately 8 or 15 volunteers (depending on the amount of work to be done on any given trail day) for 6 trail days throughout the 2013 riding season. We are depending on members from the club to come out and help us improve these trails.
What's in it for you (besides karma points) you may ask?

Trail Day Saturday April 20 Empress by Pass
The weather turned out to be beautiful for the first NSRIDE Trail day of the season.
Brent Hillier, accomplished rider and guide at Endless biking and our Trail build expert, lead an enthusiastic team of nine NSRIDE members (plus wonderful little 6 year old Vera, who stomped dirt and handed out cookies, proving any one can help out).
We all learned a lot about what causes erosion and the damage it can do to our trails. We set out to repair some of our favourite berms with some minor rock work. A variety or water dams to direct the water off the trail ( grade reversal is the technical term). There was lots of clearing water ways and ditches to help the water drain and of some replanting for beautification.
Annie Parent was the lucky winner of the Different Bikes Pro Deal!! Congratulations Annie! For those of you that don’t know, a Pro-deal is essentially a new ride at an unbeatable price. Plus all participants received a 30% discount card for their next purchase at Different Bikes. Big Thanks to Different Bikes for their sponsorship and support.
Our Lunch was a feast to say the least, Safeway provided delicious fruit, veggie and sandwich platters as well as drinks so the entire crew ate like kings.
Our next NSRIDE trail day is Saturday May 4th Sign up now. It’s is a great day outdoors getting some exercise and a ton of trail karma plus an appreciation of how much work goes into the beautiful trails we ride
